Hi I'm Madeleine…

The one-woman band behind the scenes, bringing you new content, unique treasures and the #haulternative when it comes to style.

This site will constantly evolve and I will endeavour to do my very best to serve your requirements along the way.

Since graduating with A 2:1 Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Promotion back in 2002, I've turned my hand to many projects which have helped towards creating the concept for ThriftVIP®.

Born from an enjoyable hobby, I'm so excited to further evolve ThriftVIP.

It's all about slowing down, valuing what we have and injecting our wardrobes with a bit of magic, with a few new pieces here and there. In addition to that, ThriftVIP® is evolving further, expanding minds via collaborative projects by writing about those in the community, both locally and online in the UK. This is sometimes by chance meetings or through online connections.

It has brought me great pleasure to finally put my passions to good use, launching ThriftVIP® for discerning stylish individuals, looking for unique eclectic apparel, with the ethos of people and planet before profit. Offering pieces with longevity, and classic styles to crossover all product lifecycles: FASHION - FAD - FOREVER.

The pieces in my collections are slowly being released to various bricks and mortar outlets and charitable causes, due to health being the deicding factor as to whether I could ever have my own boutique on the high street. Some things are not meant to be. ThriftVIP is taking new directions, focusing on those behind the clothes, in the form of articles, and more to come. It will slowly evolve. Some pieces from collections are still available in my Depop shop.

Born from a passion for style and great design, and my love of finding unique treasures amongst the growing vintage and pre-loved pieces on offer around the world, I will continue to embrace our British diversity, encourage individuality and promote the values which lie at the core of ThriftVIP®.

Sometimes I’ll use ‘we’ when I talk about ThriftVIP®, and that’s because I’ve worked with so many amazing people and they have helped to create this too. Look out for them in the ARTICLES section

I’ve also written a very long account about my journey living with chronic illness and how ThriftVIP® was born from having to slow my life right down. If you want, you can read that here. I still constantly push my limitations, but I’m more careful now to stay within my low baseline of existence for the most part, as frustrtaing as that is. Despite the setbacks, I remain determined to realise at least some of my dreams along the way, those that are left.

Empathy & Authenticity are two very important factors when it comes to building my unique relationship with you. I endeavour to do this by keeping things manageable with the resources I have available.

SERVICE= I want to offer something special, and if I can focus on a small amount of people with my Unique Profiling Concept it means I can keep things the way I’d like them to be, as if you were calling in to see me at your local boutique. This option is something I can offer if you require one-off assistance, looking for a particular garment that I may be able to source, and can provide on an individual basis. I’m keeping this option open as requests can sometimes be fulfilled depending on requirement.

They know what they like and go out and get it, without having to trawl through pages of stuff.

ThriftVIP® is for individuals looking to enhance that individuality.

I've hand selected and curated some unique pieces here just for you.

The philosophy at ThriftVIP® is about embracing our differences. By sourcing more of what you ask for, I can accommodate this, with some wild cards thrown in for good measure.

DIVERSITY - is celebrated through the clothes we wear and how we wear them, the models, artists and designers I work with, and the calibre of graduate designers I embrace, giving them a platform to showcase their work and evolve in their own right.

Graduate Platform - if you’re interested in selling your collection, it may be that sometimes I can put you in touch with buyers, depending on the enquiries I receive. Often this can be after end of year showcases, enabling some revenue back from graduate funded collections. I understand how much work goes into this. Sometimes I’m also happy to promote your collection to any potential buyers via my website, so this is a possibility in the future.
